Created with funding from the Essex Council Arts & Culture fund, this year long project worked with young people aged 16-24 and members of the public in financially deprived areas of the Tendring coastal region including Harwich, Dovercourt, Walton-on-the-Naze, Clacton-on-Sea and Jaywick.
We explored what ‘climate change’ means to the participants and through field trips, workshops, film viewings, performances and other activities the young people looked at ways they can make changes for the future. Island homes, transport of the future, clothing from fabric waste and junk sculpture were the inspirations.
Some of the participants have since changed their own futures, deciding to apply to university, change the focus of their course or start and Eco business when they are older
