Rubbing 2020

Using graphite, pigment, pastels, mud, turmeric and oil on lining paper, Jane began creating her ‘Rubbings’ during lockdown in 2020. This expanded from the need for human contact to creating in the natural environment, using materials she could find, like mud and sand mixed with the pigment, once again commenting on our relationship to our natural environment
